All the celebrities who fled the US after Trump was elected president

Donald Trump was inaugurated as the United States’ 47th president earlier this week.
His inauguration ceremony, attended by several celebrities, took place on Monday (20 January), making him the first person convicted felon to become president.

Many celebrities, like many others around the country, have expressed concern about how Trump’s election to the presidency may affect them. Some have even decided to leave the United States because of Trump’s administration.

Here is the complete list of proven celebrities who have fled Trump’s United States, as well as those who are seriously considering doing so.

The actress told Marie Claire of Trump’s plans: “If he keeps his promises, it’s going to be a scary place.”

“Most Americans aren’t so lucky. They’re going to be stuck in this dystopian country, and my anxiety and sadness is for them.”

Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi

The former talk show presenter has gone to the United Kingdom with her wife, declaring they will ‘never return’ following Trump’s election.

According to an anonymous source close to the marriage, the couple is currently residing in the Cotswolds and has no plans to return to America, especially while Trump is still in office.

The actress has moved her family to the UK and is apparently looking for schools in London for her children.

According to a source Daily Mail, she will remain in the United States for work and to advocate for Latinas and women, but she will be abroad for family and to benefit her children’s education.

“She wants them to have the best opportunities possible and to her, being overseas for that is what is important.”

The wonderful singer and actress earlier told Stephen Colbert that if Trump won re-election, she would not reside in the United States again.

And now that he has formally returned to office, only time will tell.

The OITNB star expressed similar sentiments to Streisand, revealing that she hopes to relocate to Europe or maybe the Caribbean now that Trump is in office.

She told Variety, “As a public figure, with all my privilege, I’m scared, and I’m particularly scared because I’m a public figure. I feel like I could be targeted. I think they spent close to $100 million on anti-trans ads. It’s deeply concerning.”

Cher had planned to emigrate in 2016 when Trump first won, and in an interview with the Guardian, she promised to do so if he was elected for a second term.

However, a source informed the Daily Mail she has recently opted to stay, stating that she and her boyfriend Alexander Edwards ‘have their life together here’.

Stone, like many others, intended to depart for a better future in light of the new regime.

Last year, she told the Daily Mail, “I am certainly considering a house in Italy. I think that’s an intelligent construct at this time.”

However, an insider said she had changed her mind, told RadarOnline Stone that she ‘isn’t a quitter and is truly a patriotic person – no matter which direction she believes the country is heading in’.

The British actress, who has lived in Los Angeles for decades, has stated that returning to the United States under the Trump administration would be difficult.

When The Times asked her if she’d ever return to the country under Trump, she seemed undecided, saying, “If I lived in a red [Republican] state, no, I couldn’t. But living in California, you are somewhat insulated.

Vivian Wilson

Vivian and her father Elon Musk are estranged (

Elon Musk’s trans daughter has also come out publicly about her desire to leave the United States, despite her father’s political affiliation with Trump.

She said on Threads, “I don’t see my future in the United States.”

“Even if he’s only in office for 4 years, even if the anti-trans regulations magically don’t happen, the people who willingly voted this in are not going anywhere anytime soon.”
